Phew! I've got the blocking done. Why is it so hard to finish off a sweater. It's like writer's block. Once I've finished the last stitch, it's like the joy of it grinds to a halt. Is the final chapter just as hard for a writer? Blocking and sewing the pieces together are such a pain!
Halfway there now. Here are the front and arms blocked and waiting to dry.
In other news, I sent off the blue socks (see below) to my dad for his Birthday. Yes, thanks Emilee for the comment, he does have very large feet. Like a good Swede he sports size 11 shoes (or size 44 European size)... it took a while to knit the feet. I'm very happy with this first attempt at socks and I am truly converted.

Beginning and ending are always hard...
to finish the sweater is to some degree ending a relationship with it.
It stops being a project you are involved with and becomes something independant of you.
Its hard to let go. (but you'll manage!)

Oh wow, can I ever identify with knitting gigantic socks! My husband's feet are SIZE FOURTEEN!! He gets socks in worsted weights. Otherwise, it takes too long!!

Wow, that is some serious blocking. I hate eventhe thought of it - hence I have a pile of WIPs. Yours is inspiring.

The sweater looks great. I think I might hunt down the pattern and make it myself. You are not alone on the sweater finishing bit. My Sizzle still needs armhole edging and my son's cardigan is still waiting for a zipper since before the Holidays. Thanks for sharing your blog with us.

Wow! you are the queen of patience with all those blocking pins! Another plus in doing sweaters in the round. I wish I could pin in straight lines...I have issues even with my scarves!

Welcome to Blogland! (I saw your comment on Margene's "tell your secret" contest post)
Lovely sweater - I envy anyone who is at the point of blocking! It takes a lot of devotion to get to that point. :)
