I feel like I'm finally making some progress on my WIPs.
- The designed socks are nearly finished. I'll take photos of them in all their glory once completed in the next day or two.
- The ivory sweater is close to finished as well - working on second arm.
- And all the pieces for the turtle have been knit, blocked and I've started sewing it together. It's pretty fiddly as some of the pieces are quite small.
And here's my new project:
Pattern: Dalebarn, nr. 128
Wool: KnitPicks Merino Style in Cornflower
It's a cardigan for my daughter in her favourite colour - purple. I'm learning some new techniques - the knitover pattern is really neat. I think I might try that in a pair of socks.
I'm using my KnitPicks Options for the first time as I'm using my 3.5 mm circular needles for my socks. I like them. They feel good to hold and the metal helps the stitches flow really easily. My only concern is - you have to screw on the needle attachments onto the circular. I'm a really tight knitter and I'm finding the attachments unscrew as I knit with them. The stitches get caught in the groove between the attachment and the circular part and I'm having to re-attach the pieces after nearly every row. Are any of you other KnitPicks Options users having this problem and how have you solved it?
For those of you who live in the Greater Vancouver Area - the Fibrefest is on at the Abbotsford Trade Centre this weekend. I'm heading out there on Friday with a friend for a day of pure indulgence. Hopefully I'll come home with some new "buddies" for my stash.

I actually don't own any Knitpicks, but when doing research on whether to buy them, I read somewhere that when you screw the needles on you have to use the little piece that comes with the needles to get it really tight. That sweater is so cute!

You know - I have had that problem too - where the needles come unscrewed from the base. Knitpicks options are the first pair I've owned that DON'T come unscrewed... I just have to make sure I tighten them down really well with that little pin thing. If that doesn't work, you could try plumbers tape... maybe it will help the threads grip a bit better?
That cardigan is looking awesome - I really like that crossover stitch too! So neat and tidy!

OOh, your sweater is coming out very pretty. I just bought some of the options needles, but I haven't tried them yet. I'm interested to see what others say about the connections. Have a fun trip!

Your Options needles come with a pin that acts just like a key. Once you have screwed the cable onto the needle, take the key, insert it into the hole and tighten. I haven't had any problems with my Options if I tighten them with the pin. If I forget to use it, the cable does come undone from the needles.
The cadigan is beautiful and the yarn picks up the pattern nicely. I'm sure your daughter will love it!

Love the new WIP, both the color and the pattern! My Knitpicks options stay tight as long as I use the little key. I'm sometimes worried that I'm putting them on too tight, though!

Love the new project - beautiful pattern. Like everyone else - I had the same problem with them coming undone until I used the little key.

That is a really pretty cardi you've started. Dale has so many nice patterns.
I don't have the options needles, so I can't be of any help with that though.

I have the same problem with my Knitpicks needles - now I have the answer ie to use the key! Will do that the next time. Love the stitch pattern on your daughter's cardi - it's really pretty. Thanks for your nice comments on my blog.

What a beautiful sweater! I love the cornflower color. I'm sorry I can't comment on your knitpicks needles, as I don't have any, but I hope they work out for you soon.

Beautiful pattern! I agree with the tightening advice -- if I use the key, no problem.
PS If I don't have the key with me, a straightened paper clip will do the trick.
