Sock Pattern?

In the presence of so many "far-beyond my talent"and experienced knitters, I present to you my first effort at designing a pair of socks. Alright, so it's one sock so far, but its other "half" is coming along nicely.

I still marvel at how soft and comfortable knitted socks are.

My method was probably a bit unorthodox, but if anyone wants the pattern, I'd be happy to write it up.

And guess who came to visit last night? We knew he was around as we've had to close the bedroom window in the middle of the night...

Impressive sock! Looks great & interesting to knit. I can't think of any compliments for your black & white visitor!

kim:

Your sock came out great!

What a cute--if not smelly--little friend!

cute pic!

Love the socks! You did a fabulous job!

Designing your own socks? Now THAT is impressive!
Great, Great Job! I love it!

Have a wonderful weekend! :)

If I am ever that close to a skunk, I don't think it will occur to me to grab my camera!

In other news, you are hereby tagged to participate in the seven facts meme - check my blog for details. Have fun!

Very cute sock - I'd love the pattern if you decide to publish. Cute skunk...but ewww!

Very nice! I love contrasting toe / heel / cuff socks, although I've only made that kind once or twice.

Jen:

I love the sock! And, it's too bad skunks smell so bad, because I think they are cute. :)

Yes! I want the pattern!

twig:

I love the basket weave pattern on the sock and the stranded work on the cuff. Good job.

We've only had a skunk in our yard once. It was making its way through our yard to the woods behind the house. I had just walked out the door with the girls for their last potty break of the night. None of them saw it and with two of them on leashes, it was easy to corral them back into the house. What struck me is how big it was and how slowly it moved. It was my first and only time to see one alive.

I just got back from Washington and now have some time to actually sit down and read some of my favorite blogs. The sock pattern came out wonderful and looks like it fits well. Congratulations on your first true design. I also loved the pic of your visitor. He (or she) obviously didn't mind posing for the camera.

love the sock - it turned out great. We used to have a skunk living under our porch. Not fun!

Great sock!

Nora:

Oh, how cute (albeit smelly)! :)

Wow, this sock is absolutely gorgeous! What an awesome pattern - oh yes, I'd so love to knit it and would be so grateful if you'd decide to write the pattern up!
And gosh, this visitor sure is a cutie - but I so don't want to imagine its smell! ;)

Cute sock. :) Love the black toes.

A skunk- aiee. Cute animal yes but um- not a welcome visitor!

Fredabeth:

we once had one nest under our deck & present us with 8 babies to which she introduced me while strolling over a bridge in our garden. It was a horrible few months. As they got older they fought as all siblings but you can imagine what these did as the fought.

Gail:

Love your socks but think your cat??? looks a little odd. lol
