Knitted Sweater for Charity

Five nights in a row I have worked my fingers 'til they're raw to finish this:

081.JPG

FINALLY, IT'S DONE! The pattern was chosen by a lady whose brother bid the highest for me to knit any sweater she wanted, and the money goes to charity.

Basically, one of my clients roped me into helping out to raise money for a local charity, but rather than give out of our own pocket, they hosted an auction. People donated weekends away at their cabins, golf lessons and two of the sales guys offered to dress up in drag for one day in the office (we're still to experience that "treat").

I racked my brain for days over what I should donate and then it came to me - I would knit a sweater - any sweater - to the highest bidder. Between you and me (and the Internet), I'm glad the sweater is completed...

Wow! I hope it's for a good cause - that's a lot of work! Looks good though, she should be very pleased.

That's unbelievable that you finished that sweater so quickly. I hate knitting under pressure. I'm sure the recipient will be delighted with her pretty new sweater.

Very beautiful sweater - great job! What pattern is this? Interesting concept - I bet you are glad she didn't pick a fair isle!

It's very pretty! She's going to love it!

Jen:

The sweater is beautiful! :)

I love the lace on the sleeves. What pattern is it? What yarn?

Lovely.

5 days??? goodness! it looks absolutely amazing. I love the sleeves. :)

You knitted it in FIVE DAYS??!?? Don't you ever sleep? Seriously, what a wonderful and generous donation. It is beautiful.

This looks fantastic, especially the lace parts! Congratulations!

It's beautiful! Too bad you have to now give it away!

That is an amazing donation for a charity...to knit an entire sweater for someone else! It looks like the stockinette would make it go fast at least. Now I hope your next project is for you!!

Bea:

Wow, you are a better person than I am, I would have done a scarf, maybe :) The sweater is beautiful!

it's for a good cause and well done to you for doing it. It looks lovely! I'd offer up my time for something like this, only with my luck it'll end up being something really complicated and in intarsia!

It's a lovely sweater! Not a bad idea- knitting a sweater for a charity.
