W00t for Lace Knitting

I started the shawl last night and two frustrating/exhilarating hours later I have the beginnings of the tip of the Snowdrop Shawl.

It's official, I'm hooked, lined and sinkered. I frogged a couple of lines twice and had to go back. This really takes a lot of concentration. This is strictly no TV/no kids knitting. Thanks again Barefoot Cobbler for initiating the group. I will need the whole summer to finish this baby.

Feeling completely wiped after two hours of lace knitting, I turned to the much easier cardigan for my daughter. The yarn suddenly felt very thick.

Thank you all for your advice on the dp needles, I have taken it all in and transferred the sleeve to two circular needles. Much better:

The lace looks great. Picking out rows of lace is a drag, but I'm sure it will get faster as you go along--until the rows start getting really long!

I'm not surprised that you got addicted to lace knitting so quickly - it's an awesome thing to do, and I'm impressed by the way you're doing it - it looks really good already!

That looks great. You are much braver than I! :)

Woot, woot! That is going to be gorgeous - love that yarn.

twig:

Your lace is looking great!

What a gorgeous color you have picked for your lace shawl! I hope you like lace knitting. It can be quite addictive.

keri:

It looks fabulous, great job!

The lace is looking great! I have yet to try knitting lace (except for small patterns on socks!)

Great start on the shawl - its going to be beautiful!

lace is definitely addicting and it is definitely the kind of knitting where you have to really concentrate! it's worth it in the end.

Bea:

The lace looks gorgeous! It is definitely addictive, and you chose a great yarn for the shawl!

I know what you mean about the yarn feeling thick after knitting lace. I started another shawl with a sport weight yarn and it feels like bulky after the lace weight I used on Icarus.
Yours looks great so far. Pretty yarn!
